Poutvaara Globe -model. This is the Poutvaara Space Agency’s largest single company-based capital and the single resource in use.

Poutvaara Globe model can be used as a basis for other visualizations and modellings related to Earth. The Design Bureau Poutvaara has not in its use any better base about Earth. The model has been about a 1200 hours task, to which there is related 11 thousand files. Earth has not been made with an algorithm, generically or by relating, but it has been drawn practically from zero with CAD. More precisely defined area of the model is Finland, in which there has been aimed at local recognition. For export there is also a sketched version of Finland. No part of the model is following any map, but surely other maps and map- and satellite image services have been researched. The North Pole polar ice is representing the united ice field situation 11.9.2024 using as the main source the Colorado Boulder-university.

The Poutvaara Globe -project can be obtained in a natural scale 1:1 or in smaller scales as diversity of small or large sculptures or large or by the volume the World´s largest building. The model is not precise, but is based on a sphere model of the world, not as geoid or taking into account the other irregularity. In the project the modelled Earth is not following any map or projection, but is entirely of its dimensions independent and simplified of the surface forms.

The project has not either any idol image, but it is generally known, that the mankind has realized for a thousand of years physical models of Earth and for 150 years large size sphere models. In digital age one has already for a half century realized different expertise class CAD-models of Earth and some Earth applications, of which the most known is the Google Earth -model and Google Maps map-application. Those have surely been in my use already for decades.

For the project there has been realized independent measuring and modelling concepts that have no prior comparisons. Solely the presentation of these would consist of hundreds of pages data and this data works only in 3D-model. This data is in company-related use, because it can be applied only in modelling. I would emphasize that I have not any specifically precise data about Earth in similar way as the larger operating countries sending own manned space flights. My own data is not based precisely on for example on satellite or aerial mapping, but works in conceptual model level. In illustrative models and visualization that is sufficient, same as with artistic work. Although in my models I would reach in the Earth model into one meter precision, getting such source information and using it would be for all actors too difficult – that is why simplifying is necessary. For myself the simplifying starts from architectural and artistic concept – and correspondingly the use is architectural and artistic.

Although the uncertainty factors and generosity, GPS-information can be used in the Poutvaara Globe -model in CAD-format without a user interface. With this location data with the Poutvaara Globe -model there can be reached even the same precision as with other actors, for example in calculating distances at best the same precision as other actors or for example with 1:1000 or 1:4000 precision. This is because the Poutvaara Globe -project is independent scientifically going beyond the visual model.

In the use of Earth in arts or in architecture there are several reference models. They are either based on map-model, pure form or projecting satellite images on a sphere surface.

Of all of these reference projects there is to offer a modernised present time version based on Poutvaara Globe -project, anyway little larger in size and still in scale. In my use there are ready near the same size realization models, which can be realized with digital manufacturing methods as physical objects or be assembled as entities. They are not based on any particular map, satellite image or 3D-model. The basis on the ground is a single artistic model, that is modelled in different size class:

The projects are all based on different scale versions of the same model, so no newness value are in different size versions, except the material realization in different scales is certainly different because of the effect of the scales into the structures and use. The different scales of the projects are not scalable, but work with independent structure systems and manufacturing methods. The project character is related that the different realization actors are interested in different scales, because they have the others excluding aims.

The largest size building, diameter 320 m or 350 yards, for example an ice hockey hall or other gathering building shell, would be the largest building of the world by volume, even larger than the Speer’s Volkshalle. The size class started primary as a larger alternative for the Sphere. It would be suitable only for countries with more than 150 million inhabitants as market areas, thought primary as India, China or the United States. Inside would fit a world’s largest indoor auditorium. The project format would be partly state-run special project, that with the scale would be comparable to the Egypt old age pyramid building. The bearing structure and the realization planning design would  need a locally leading engineering companies’ presence, because no one has experience of a size class of this hall.

The largest shell structures will be attached to other volumes and structural volumes, because the masses are not any more independent.

In visualization the project can be customized. This considers for example the visibility of different parts, colours and materials. The visual concepts can be customized when needed. In practice my idea as the father of the project is that the aim is that every single use of the Poutvaara Globe model is customized individually unique, although it would use the same original model.

General view of the Poutvaara Globe model as a customized image. The visual layers colours can be altered by aims. By exporting the model into an animation software, there can be created for example television backgrounds. The animation program should be able to handle a 200 Mt+ native dwg-file.

PSA has realized studies about Earth´s different orbits, of these for example Earth´s and the Moon´s orbit and ISS’s orbit. Modellings have also been created about ballistic rocket flights on Earth and also about airplanes route traffic. These have little practical use, but realistically modelled illustration value.
